How To Choose A Fleshlight

Choosing A Fleshlight is a multi-step process. First, you need to consider the size of your penis, specifically its girth, which is how many inches it is around your penis head when you're fully erect. That measurement determines which inserts are candidates for your purchase, because inserts come in three different internal diameters.
Next, consider your sexual preference: if you are heterosexual, you will be happy with any of the orifices: vagina, mouth, butt, or non-descript. If you are gay, you will probably prefer butt or mouth.

Ultra-Tight?
The inner canal of the Regular Pink Lady is about 3/4 inches in diameter at rest. The canal of all super-tight inserts, e.g. the WonderWave, in half an inch in diameter at rest. And the UT has a canal with internal diameter of 1/4 inches at rest.
Since the inserts are incredibly stretchy, even the UltraTight will accommodate the largest penis. However, it will be extremely tight and exert so much pressure that it desensitizes, so it will not be very enjoyable. - Can I Use It Hands-Free?
Yes, you can. There's several videos HERE that show you how. There's at least three methods, all simulating either doggy style or missionary:- Shoe Method: Stick the case into a shoe narrow end first, so that the orifice is angled a bit upwards and rests on the heel side of the shoe. Put the shoe on a flat surface, and plow away like you're doing push-ups. Very intense and good for spending some calories since its a good workout.

- How To Use The End Cap Effectively?
Ah! Glad you asked. The end cap controls how tight and sucky the insert feels around your dick, so using it effectively will make all the difference between a ho-hum experience and a ball buster.
A bit of physics first. When you push your dick into the insert, the air that was there before your entrance has to go somewhere. Likewise when you pull out, a vacuum forms that will be filled with air flowing in. Use either a water based lube, or a silicone based one. Water based lubes are a lot easier to clean, so most people prefer them. My personal all time favorite is Astroglide, you can get it at any good supermarket or drugstore.
DO NOT use oil for lube, and avoid lubes that contain significant quantities of oil. The manufacturer says that oil and oil based lubes will degrade the insert and shorten its useful life span by a lot. This warning is expanded here.

- How Much Lube To Use?
I use the dipstick method: pour lube into the orifice of your insert, then insert your pointing finger. It should come out coated generously with lube. If you haven't over-lubed then there's not going to be pools of lube leaking out when you hold the insert vertically.

First, you start with product selection. The two most common entry points are the Build-your-own procedure where you end up buying one insert and one case, and the 3-for-2 deal where you pay for two inserts and get a third one for free.
After you've selected the products you want to purchase, you proceed to check-out. At that time, the browser is redirected to a secure connection so that all identifying information is transmitted in a safe manner hidden from eavesdroppers.
The first step of check-out is filling out your billing and shipping information. Start with the billing information, the shipping information is assumed to be the same initially, and the shipping information is automatically filled from the billing information you provide. Fill out the complete billing information, including a phone number, email, and street address. Your email address is used to send an email confirmation and for further notifications (see below). If the shipping address is the same as the billing address, you're done. Otherwise fill in the correct shipping address information where you want the package containing your items to be sent.
The next step is choosing the shipment method. You can choose amongst various delivery options from FedEx (the recommended shipment method if you're shipping the purchase to a US, Australian or European address), or you can choose USPS. I use FedEx 2 business days shipping for all my purchases, its fast, reliable and it just works.
Next, proceed to the payment screen. Here you select the method of payment. Three methods are offered, namely Credit Card, Money Order and Check. If you select payment by Money Order or Check, you're done here and can proceed to the check-out confirmation screen. If you select payment by credit card, fill out the credit card info required such as the sixteen digit credit card number, full name on the card, security code, and expiration date. Proceed to the check-out confirmation screen.
The final screen is the check-out confirmation screen. It shows the order number, exactly what items you purchased, the amount that you will be charged for, and the billing and shipping information you supplied. I strongly advise that you print this page out for your records. An email containing all of this information is also sent to the email address you supplied.
What happens next depends on the payment method you selected. If you selected Money Order or Check, your order is put on hold until the company receives and cashes your payment. This can add up to six business days to the fulfillment process! I strongly recommend that you use a credit card for payment if at all possible.

- Tell Me More About The 3-for-2 Deal?
The 3-for-2 deal is a promotion where you pay for two inserts and receive a third one free. It is a great way for you to maximize the purchasing power of your dollars! Remember that the 3-for-2 deal does not include a case, so you'll need to purchase a case separately.

- Can I Pay With A Money Order? With A
Check? With PayPal?
You can pay with a check or with a money order. You can not pay with PayPal, because PayPal refuses to service transactions for adult sites.
Before choosing to use a check or money order as your payment method, consider that it adds around six to eight business days to the time it takes for you to receive your purchase. That's because ILF must receive and cash your money order or check, and only then do they start fulfilling your order.

- OK I Bought, What Happens Next?
The first thing that happens immediately is that you will receive either one or two e-mail messages on the e-mail account you gave during ordering. These messages will show exactly what you purchased, and contain the order number and an estimated delivery date based on your choice of shipping method and location.
When your order is fulfilled and handed off to the shipper, you will receive another e-mail message containing a tracking number that you can use on the FedEx or US Postal Service website. Wait eight to ten hours before trying to use the tracking number, the delay is for the shipper to enter the tracking number into their tracking system.
You should not receive any more email from ILF from that point onwards. At the delivery date given in the first e-mail, your package should arrive at the address you used as the shipping address.
ILF says this about the purchasing process: You will receive a payment confirmation e-mail once your credit card has been processed. Your order will generally ship within in 24hrs you will receive a shipping confirmation e-mail with your tracking number once your order has been shipped (if you place your order after 3pm MST Friday your order will not be shipped until the following Monday). Please note that although most orders ship within 24 hours, we reserve the right to ship orders in 1-3 business days from the date that payment is finalized. This delay is usually due to payment failure, changes requested by the customer, incomplete/incorrect shipping address. - How Long Does It Take To Get Here?
That depends on a lot of factors. If you paid by credit card, the payment went through, and you bought 2-day expedited shipping with FedEx, your package should arrive within three to four business days from the date of purchase. Remember that the 2-day guarantee only applies to the shipping time, not to the time it takes ILF to fulfill the order.
Most purchases that are shipped within the continental US with the default shipping method (FedEx Air) should arrive within six business days from the date of purchase.

- I Live In Country X, Why Don't They
Ship There?
A variety of factors may come into play. You may live in a country that a US company is prohibited from doing business with, due to an embargo or trade sanctions. Or you may live in a country that has restrictive import laws for sex toys, and ILF decided it is not worth doing business with that country due to the hassle of returns, claims, and disputes due to "disappeared" items. More rarely, your country is not one that FedEx ships to. There are still a few countries like that.

Not necessarily. First of all, for best selection you obviously do need to shop at the manufacturer. Your other retailer may not have the exact color, orifice, and texture combination that you want in stock. ILF always has plenty of each combination in stock and can fulfill your order nearly always within twenty four hours.
Second, the price often is very similar to what you'd pay buying direct, and at least in the US it's often higher at other retailers than buying direct. This makes sense since these other retailers need to make a profit as well.

The questions and answers in this section will address specific aspects of how to take care of your Fleshlight to make sure it lasts a long long time. I'll use this answer to describe how I take care of the Fleshlight insert and case regularly.
First of all, I store the inserts in a well ventilated place. Even after proper cleaning and drying, inevitably there might still be some moisture or dampness left inside the canal. It's therefore essential that this moisture has a chance to evaporate over time, and that it will not provide a substrate for mold and bacteria to grow in.
Most often I store the inserts in a closet on the floor, in a cardboard box with holes punched in its side for cross ventilation. Other people have gone all fancy and built a drying stand where they hang the inserts to dry while not in use, like a bottle drying stand. I'm not that talented with my hands so I didn't do that. Anyways the cardboard box with holes in it works fine for me.
So when I want to use the Fleshlight, I take the insert I want to use out of its storage, wash it out in the sink with hot water, and dry it with a towel. Then I put the insert into the case I'm going to use, lube it up, and use.
After I am done using the Fleshlight, I wash it out again with plenty of water, and I especially run a lot of hot water through the canal. This flushes any biological material that may be left there. It is sometimes surprisingly hard to get rid of everything, especially with a textured insert. I usually run the water both directions for at least 2-3 minutes.
After washing the insert out, I usually dry its outside with a towel. Then I take a handkerchief and wrap it around the thick end of a knitting needle or a chopstick, and I push the handkerchief through the canal of the insert from one end to the other, until it does not pick up any more moisture. This treatment results in a very dry canal, especially if you switch between several handkerchiefs or hand towels.
At that point I have an insert ready to be stored. However, the insert is likely to be very sticky at this point, so I usually powder the outside with talc based baby powder. The manufacturer recommends using corn starch for powdering, but I avoid it, and I use talcum based inorganic powder exclusively. If you have not cleaned and dried thoroughly, the corn starch will provide lots of food for mold and bacteria to grow and render your insert useless.
Every now and then, a washing out with hot tap water is not sufficient. For those occassions, I use 70% isopropyl alcohol. What I do is hold the small (non-orifice) end of the insert closed with my hand, and pour alcohol down the orifice end, and slosh it around inside the canal for about a minute or two. Then repeat with a fresh batch of alcohol. If you want to give the insert an extended alcohol treatment, you can fill a sink with warmish tap water, pour an entire bottle of isopropyl alcohol into the sink, and dunk the insert in the mixture.
This treatment with alcohol is designed to kill off anything living inside the insert, especially colonies of mold that have bored into the insert material. No living things can survive this treatment. Other people have also tried bleach and peroxide water, but I am not recommending this because these are oxidizing agents, and as such they will cause the insert material to become brittle and hard. Not recommended except in the most extreme cases where the insert is already useless and is likely to be discarded anyways.
To summarize: wash your insert out with plenty of hot water before use, then use, then wash it again with plenty of hot water, dry thorougly and store in a well ventilated place. If you feel the insert is smelly or still dirty, throw in an occassional washing with isopropyl alcohol. Powdering the insert is optional, only to take case of stickyness.

- What Lubes To Use?
Use only water based lubes. The manufacturer sells appropriate lubes on their website, and AstroGlide, my preferred lube, can also be bought in major pharmacies and drug stores.

- What Lubes Not To Use?
Do not use lubes that contain oils, natural, animal, vegetable, or synthetic. All varieties of oil are bad for the insert material and will cause it to break down rapidly over a few days of exposure.
I also recommend avoiding silicone based lubes. While these lubes do not damage the insert material, they are extremely difficult to clean off properly, and they provide a hiding place for organic materials to remain inside the insert after use and cleaning.

- How Do I Know If A Lube Is OK To Use?
I've suggested several different tests. Of course you could read the label and see if there's any ingredient listed that looks like oil or oil-based. If in doubt, don't use this lube with your Fleshlight. While one use does not destroy your Fleshlight, its still a waste of money to buy a lube only to discover later that you should not use it with your insert.
The various lube tests all rely on the fact that oil and water do not mix. Here are two tests that I've seen mentioned:
Pour a generous serving of the lube into a glass of water, mix well, and let rest for 20 minutes. If there is a shiny oil film atop the water then the lube contains enough oil to damage the insert, so do not use.
Pour a good serving of the lube on a white cotton cloth such as a handkerchief or hand towel. Wash out with warm water, and leave to dry. Is there a stain on the cloth? If yes, then the lube should not be used with your insert, because it contains oil.

- Can I Cum Inside It?
Yes, the whole idea of the Fleshlight is that it simulates unprotected sexual contact. You can use the Fleshlight in the same way as you'd behave when making love with a willing sexual partner, and that of course includes cumming inside them! - Its All Sticky!!! What To Do?
The inserts get sticky after washing with hot water. Its a property of the material of which they are made, if your insert becomes sticky its not your fault, you're not doing anything wrong.
If that stickyness bothers you, you can use a powder to eliminate the stickyness. This is purely optional and the stickyness does not damage your insert in any way, so you can decide to not powder.
You should note that powdering Ice colored inserts reduces visibility over time, and Ice colored inserts are especially sticky, because the manufacturer does not include a smoothing agent in the material that would make the insert opaque. I have an Ice insert and I powder only the orifice area, which does not reduce the visibility along the canal, and does take care of the most exposed area.

- How Do I Powder My Fleshlight?
I powder the insert with talcum based powder, only on the outside. What I do is powder the outside with the powder and then shake off the excess. Then I gently smooth the powder over the outside of the insert, ensuring that no surface area remains sticky.
I used to also pour some powder down the canal, but found that it is not necessary and it makes the insert more difficult to prepare for use. So now I only powder the outside, with no ill effect.

The manufacturer recommends using a powder containing corn starch. I personally avoid that, because corn starch is organic. Or Clean?
Yes, you can turn the inserts inside out, gently. First, ensure that the outside of the insert is thoroughly powdered and non-sticky. If you don't ensure that, then by turning it inside-out you will end up with a sticky ball of insert material, virtually impossible to rescue.
Start from the small (non-orifice) end of the insert, and pull it upwards towards the orifice end of the insert. Slowly work your way all the way to the end till the orifice end appears inside-out.
I recommend doing this only with the Lady orifice and Mouth orifice. The Butt orifice is too tight to allow completely turning the insert inside-out, and I have not tried with the Non-descript orifice, so I do not know if its possible.

Yes, a rinse with isopropyl alcohol (also sold as "Rubbing Alcohol") will not damage your insert, and it will kill any mold or other stuff that might render your insert useless.
